Every town has a history worth keeping.
Our Town Heritage preserves the history of small towns, one photo at a time. Families share the old photos in their drawers and albums, neighbors add what they remember, and each town builds an archive anyone can explore.
How it works.
Each town has its own page and archive. Anyone can browse. Sharing a photo or adding what you know takes a free account, and everything is reviewed before it appears. Every item keeps its credit line and rights, and photos from the Library of Congress keep their original source.
What we never do.
We never present a guess as fact, and we never identify people from their faces. Anyone can ask us to remove or blur a photo of themselves or their family, and it comes down right away while we review it.
How it’s paid for.
The Hometown Pride shop sells prints and hometown goods. A share of each sale made from a family’s photo goes back to that family as store credit.
